Dan was born and raised in the small Northen Ontario town of Wawa before putting down roots in Sault Ste. Marie. He completed his undergraduate degree in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for 3 years prior to medical school. He attended medical school at Northern Ontario School of Medicine in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Dan was drawn to General Surgery early in his training given the high acuity of patients, the wide breadth of procedures, and the different avenues available as a General Surgeon. From his brief time at Queen’s during medical school, Dan was able to appreciate the tight knit General Surgery program which fostered a positive learning environment. In Dan’s spare time he enjoys camping, cycling, hockey, and exploring different restaurants. He looks forward to beginning his residency training and exploring what the city of Kingston has to offer over the next 5 years.
