Dr. Shayanne Lajud Guerrero is a head and neck surgeon specializing in oncologic, endocrine, and microvascular reconstructive surgery. He earned his medical degree Magna Cum Laude from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic and completed advanced training through a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, general surgery residency at Emory University, otolaryngology residency at the University of Puerto Rico, and a fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto.
Prior to joining Queen’s, Dr. Lajud Guerrero was Assistant Professor at the University of Puerto Rico, focusing on complex head and neck cancer surgery, thyroid and parathyroid disease, and airway reconstruction. His research addresses cancer disparities and access to care in head and neck oncology. He is a recipient of the 2025 Young Physicians Section Impact Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Foundation for his contributions to education and community service.
