Tanya grew up in Pickering, Ontario, and studied Biology at the University of Waterloo before completing both a second degree and a Master’s in Global Health at McMaster University. Her research in humanitarian health and non-communicable diseases has shaped her passion for global surgery and for bridging clinical care with health equity.
Outside of scrubs, Tanya loves spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Ollie. She enjoys drawing as a creative outlet, staying active through Pilates, and trying out new recipes. Having first made Kingston her home during medical school, she is excited to continue growing her roots at Queen’s and to balance residency life with the community and people she cherishes.
