Natalie comes from Egypt and spent her formative years in Kuwait. She moved to Halifax, NS, in 2014 for her undergraduate studies and has called it home ever since. Now, she is excited to explore and settle in Kingston.
Natalie holds a BSc Combined Honours in Microbiology & Immunology and Psychology. Her undergraduate research focused on oncolytic viruses and immunolotherapy. Before starting medical school, she worked as a residency program administrator by day and a research assistant in an immunology lab by night. At Dalhousie Medical School, she discovered her passion for general surgery during her clerkship. She was drawn to the broad skill set required in both acute and non-acute settings, loving the versatility and variety it offers.
Natalie looks forward to making Kingston her home for the next five years or more. The city reminds her of Halifax, with its heritage sites, boardwalks, nearby nature trails, and opportunities for lake swims and paddleboarding. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, creating floral arrangements, singing, painting, and spending time outdoors.
She is eager to see where her career in general surgery will take her!
