Dr. Félix Lavigne

PGY1 Resident

Raised on a dairy farm in New Liskeard, Ontario, Félix developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for rural communities from an early age. He moved to Sudbury to pursue post-secondary education, completing an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Biology followed by medical school at NOSM University. He was drawn to general surgery because of its broad scope of practice, high-acuity environment, and unique combination of surgical and medical decision-making, as well as the opportunity to provide care in rural and remote communities. After completing a fourth-year elective at Queen's, he knew it was the right place to train, attracted by the program's supportive culture, early operative exposure, and exceptional balance of fellowship-level and community-based surgical training. He also appreciates Kingston's blend of small-town charm and city amenities.

Outside of medicine, Félix enjoys staying active and involved in the community. He officiates hockey at the junior level and enjoys spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. He has a passion for cooking and enjoys challenging himself to create meals from whatever ingredients are on hand. An enthusiastic board game player, he brings a healthy competitive spirit to game nights with friends and family. Above all, he values time spent with friends and family and feels especially fortunate to still have three of his four grandparents as an important part of his life.
