From a young age, Nahal has admired the critical work done by those in the medical field. As such, she completed her Nursing degree at McGill University and worked as an ICU nurse clinician before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seeking to deepen her medical knowledge, she decided to pursue an MD and enrolled in the MDCM program at McGill University. During her studies, she was drawn to General Surgery for its diversity of cases, the impact general surgeons have on their patients' lives, and the abundant sub-specialization opportunities it offers.
Nahal chose Queen’s General Surgery program for its openness to diversity, close-knit community, and the beautiful location of Kingston. While enjoying the “general” of general surgery, she also holds a strong interest in global surgery, surgical oncology, quality improvement, and medical education. Believing strongly in work-life balance, Nahal enjoys spending her spare time with loved ones, engaging in workouts and outdoor activities, and participating in volunteer work.
