Alessia Di Carlo was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario. She completed her undergraduate degree at McMaster University in Biochemistry and completed her Medical Degree at Queen’s University. Alessia took an early interest in General Surgery due to the specialties’ broad scope of practice and diverse patient presentations. From her time at Queen’s, she was able to appreciate the size and closeness of the General Surgery program and how it further fosters close working relationships with both staff and co-residents. Having lived in Kingston for the past four years, Alessia enjoys the great restaurant scene and the beautiful waterfront trails. She is looking forward to embarking on her residency training and exploring the many career opportunities that General Surgery has to offer. In her spare time, she can be found baking cookies or spending time at a dance studio.
