Dr. Matthew Snow is a third year resident in the General Surgery program at Queen’s University. Originally from Toronto, he completed an undergraduate degree in Physiology and then a Master’s degree in sleep neuroscience there through the University of Toronto. Matt had his first exposure to surgery during his graduate studies and explored this interest further during medical school at Queen’s University, developing a passion for General Surgery due to its exciting breadth of practice, clinical intersection of anatomy and physiology, and mixture of both procedural and medical investigation and intervention, the combination of which allows for a truly well-rounded clinician. He hopes to pursue a career in Thoracic Surgery and has research interests in quality improvement and clinical innovation. Matt enjoys the numerous operating opportunities in Kingston and affiliated regional sites afforded by the small size of the Queen’s program, as well as the close ties amongst the resident group. In his spare time he enjoys playing hockey, swimming, eating hot wings, and searching for the perfect mac n’ cheese!
