The Department of Surgery, Queen’s University welcomes residents from other universities with an interest in Surgery and encourages you to come to Queen’s for an elective.
While here, you are welcome to participate in structured residency program learning activities such as academic half days and journal club. You will become a member of the team and as such, will be responsible for rounding with the residents, writing orders, attending outpatient clinics and taking call, as applicable.
When requesting your elective, please include any academic commitments or time off requests in your elective request.

Please note: All electives must be made through the PGME Office. Residents are not permitted to make arrangements with any department or physician at any of the hospitals or clinics outside of the PGME Office.
