Dr. Fred Watkins is the Division Chair for Plastic Surgery at Queen's University. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Watkins is an attending plastic surgeon at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Watkins graduated with his medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax Nova Scotia. He completed his residency in general surgery as well as plastic surgery at Dalhousie. Dr. Watkins then went on to complete several fellowships; one in hand and microsurgery at Christine Kleinert Institute in Louisville, another microsurgery and hand fellowship from Toronto General Hospital, and finally he completed a clinical fellowship in plastic surgery and maxillofacial surgery at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Dr. Watkins' clinical research focuses on hands, plastics and reconstructive surgery.
